85TH ANNIVERSARY OF CAMERA DI COMMERCIO ITALO ORIENTALE
The assembly of the members of Camera di Commercio Italo Orientale has been enriched by an important festivity.On 25th March at the Sheraton Hotel in Bari, the 85th Anniversary of the foundation of The Chamber has been celebrated in a joyful atmosphere and with the presence of many firms coming from the whole country.
After the usual greetings of the present authorities, the president Silvio Panaro started remembering the most important steps of these 85 years for the CCIO.The birth with the first President Antonio De Tullio on 23rd March 1924; the presidence of Gaetano Re David at the end of the 20ies, opening a delegacy in Tirane; the determinant role in the creation of Fiera Del Levante are just the first significant events characterizing the first years.
The Camera di Commercio Italo Orientale suspended its activities because of the Second World War and was founded again in 1983 by the President of The Chamber of Commerce of Bari Luigi Farace.
The President Panaro concluded his report remembering his presidence in 1994, when he reorganized the chamber activity both in Italy and abroad.The energy spent by the actual President allow this institution to grow up and confirm its value in the time.
Besides, there have been wide reports on the treated and planned activities, pointing out the measures of a huge growth of CCIO during the last years.During the party, the Chamber wanted to pay tribute to all the members giving their significant support to its activity by delivering some merit plates (Ditta Silvio Panaro, P.V.S. s.r.l, Associazione Spedizionieri Pugliesi, TPE of Ing. Gianfranco Liuzzi, Confindustria Bari, So.tra.p., UPSA Confartigianato Bari, Barion, Divella, Sa.ca.l.b.).
Father Bova has been a welcome guest and he talked about future projects in his contribution.One in particular: the birth in 2010 of Fiera Mediterranea Federiciana, an international event, with the main effort of Camera di Commercio Italo Orientale as an organizer of this manifestation that will develop into three thematic areas (commercial, cultural, spectacular) and represent a great vehicle of promotion of Apulia in the world.
